A simple trip to the dog park yielded a most pleasant surprise. The Pileated woodpecker!!Of course it was the one time that I did not have my good camera with me...hence the less than stellar captures, but at least i have proof!
This fella was not afraid of anybody or anything often letting me get withing about 15 feet of him. I will never ever again not have my camera with me...neck pain be dammed!
